The Herd Effect: Word of Mouth Marketing
I like this: a video from Source Fed, a popular YouTube channel discussing the ‘Herd Effect’, where 25% of all positive feelings towards something (a product or service) was directly linked to how others felt about the product or service FIRST. If the majority of the people were positive about the product or service, than those following the heard would also have positive feelings towards that product or service.
They call it the Herd Effect but really it’s just good Word of Mouth marketing..
Point to Remember:
- People want to join in what others are doing.
- People Follow the herd, they want what their friends have.
- People want what others are buying.
How can you use this in your business?
Personally I give trophy’s to customers. I give them something they can show off, which also helps spread the word about my products and services.
I lead people to positive reviews subtly.
I create platforms where positive word of mouth is encouraged, platforms that I understand and that I can use in my marketing efforts.
For example I recently created a Facebook page for Six Figure Boss.
And soon there will be a support forum.
It’s these tools that make it EASY for your customers to spread the word about you and your business. And it’s in these platforms that make your marketing efforts EASY.
