Making Money with Super Couponing!

If you remember a few weeks back my mom decided that she was going to try this crazy world of ‘making money online’ by creating an eBook about ‘saving money’.

She’s quite experienced with saving money after years as a single parent and recently not being able to work due to a month stay in the hospital.

I told her about SFB and she took it upon herself to create an eBook on super-couponing; a skill she has mastered over the years which enables her to save thousands every year just by shopping.

Two days ago I went over her house and we put the final touches on the membership website she setup and sales page and then I helped her submit it to Clickbank for approval.

I told her it could take anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks to get approved by Clickbank but surprisingly by the next morning she was approved and ready to go.

Personally I find Clickbank to be sticklers about approving products but they had no problems with PhatLadyCoupons, so that made things easy!

She started with a niche idea of ‘saving money’ and decided on Super Couponing as the product. She wrote the eBook which only took a couple weeks to create and with the help of LeadPages created the sales page and Aweber the email sequence.

Now she’s ready to start selling her eBook to the masses… how does she do that?

She’s lucky because she has me with a few tricks up my sleeve for some quick sales. We’ll get to that later. As for what she can do herself in promoting her product I gave her a couple strategies to focus on for right now: YouTube and Community Forums.

YouTube: Because it’s Easy

The idea is to create quick videos (maybe 2-3 minutes long) where she can give tips and tricks on couponing. I told her about a FREE video capture software ‘Debut Video Capture‘ that makes it easy to create videos quickly. It’s one button to record and another to stop, and it creates a file you can upload to YouTube in just seconds. I like Camtasia too but it’s quite expensive.

The more (quality) videos she creates, the more traffic she can generally count on. And if you didn’t know already, YouTube has over 1 billion unique users each month! And the videos you create will stay there forever and rank not only in YouTube but Google search engine and generate targeted traffic over time.. YouTube FTW!

Community Forums: It’s Where Your Customers Congergate

While ranking in the Search Engines for your money keywords is important, that takes time. To get traffic quickly you have to think to yourself… where are your customers? Wherever they congregate is where you want your message front and center and while you can do that with Media Buys and other advertising, that can be expensive and not very responsive. Personally I like community forums for their cheap fast ‘targeted’ traffic.

People are predicable. Have you heard this saying, birds of a feather flock together? That is people who think the same stick together and for the online world that’s generally in large communities such as vBulletin forums.

Get your message in front these masses as much as possible without spamming, that means giving helpful replies in forum and utilizing signatures with your website link and this will help flood people back to you. This is VERY effective way to gain targeted traffic to your products and services.

Automation: If I were to automate this task I would post a job on oDesk for ‘Forum Posters‘ whom I would have seek out and participate in large niche forums with comments and threads that push my content, whether that’s my sales pages, articles, blog posts or even videos. I would ONLY look for quality forum posters and never spam as this would give you a bad reputation.

How to Find Niche Forums: Easy, Google search your main niche keyword and add “Forums” to your search, for example: “Coupon Forums”. You should find plenty of online communities to join.

A quick search for the ‘coupoining’ niche had these results:

All my mom would have to do is join these forums, give helpful advice and use her forum signature with a link pointing back to her sales page to bring traffic back to her website. The more active she is in these forums the more traffic she will get, it’s as simple as that.

These two methods are free and WILL yield results.

Of course there are dozens of other great methods to generate targeted traffic but this is what we’re going to focus on for quick results. Later we’ll work on other traffic strategies.
