Creating A Sales Page the EASY Way
(Forgive. I was crazy tired when I made this video! I’m referring to LeadPages in the above video, more on that in a moment.)
Weird title huh? I’ll get to it in a moment.
So my mom decided to try this whole ‘Making Money Online’ thing a few weeks back. After an emergency surgery and not being able to go back to work for the foreseeable future.
I gave her a copy of the guide, she read it, took some notes and came up with a few niche ideas that she was interested in and got started.
Her Niche Ideas: Home Nurse Care and Super Couponing
While home nurse care is something she is passionate about and knowledgeable, I felt it was better to go with something a little more realistic. Later she can expand to other niches. Another reason why we chose ‘super couponing’ was because it’s something that would bring immediate tangible value to the customer and it’s something that would be in higher demand, at least from my initial research. Not to mention it’s in the ‘making money‘ niche (wealth) so it’s evergreen and has tons of other products to promote.
Product: eBook Format/Membership Website
She decided to go with an eBook because she’s wanting to sell information and an eBook format is the easiest way to share that information with others. On top of that she wants to have video to add extra value. I gave her some tips on creating an eBook, similar to what I wrote here.
She saves on average between $100 and $200 a month with her couponing, a skill which she has mastered after a medical emergency leaving her out of work and unable to go back for the unforeseen future.
While the prospect of making money online is exciting, it’s necessary for her. And while for most people it’s a supplemented income or something played around with and not a life or death situation. It’s scary knowing how much the right information can change a person’s life.
With other products I create, I get feedback that I literally saved a person’s life with my advice. That they were going to be broke if they did not find my guide and help them succeed. It’s flattering but at the same time SCARY that people put so much faith into my work.
Back to topic!
So my mom decides on the Couponing Niche!
So What’s Next?
She wants to put her eBook on a large marketplace like Clickbank to use the power of affiliates to help promote her product. She needs a website to sell the product, Clickbank will only handle the transaction. Not to mention we want to collect leads, deliver the product on the back end and promote affiliated products for more income (fun stuff).
Step 1: Purchase the Domain
My Mom is a character so she decides on PhatLadyCoupons.com; we purchase the domain through NameCheap because NameCheap is awesome.
Step 2: Web Hosting
I set her up with web hosting through HostGator, because it’s cheap and it works. Want your website installed?
That’s Week One!
I suppose that’s the hardest part for most people; figuring out what you want and then just going for it. Most people I talk with about this whole ‘making money online’ thing seem to gravitate towards writing an eBook. And that’s fine. You could also go with providing a ‘service’ if you are an expert with a certain skill (SEO, animation, logo design, etc.) Instead of an eBook, you could possibly sell software. I personally love doing this because it requires zero work on my part (I can outsource this work to some guy in India). The possibilities are endless!
Week 2: The Product!
At this point she knows the niche she wants to focus on (Super Couponing & Saving Money) and she decided on a product already (eBook, video membership website). She has done initial research into the competition and is ready to rock!
Now she just needs the actual product and website!
She takes it upon herself to start gathering notes and putting together the guide.
After reading her initial draft after a few days of working on it, it’s only a few pages (mostly structure). I gave her some pointers and less then a week later she comes back with a nearly finished product (40-pages of great advice).
It amazed me how quickly she had something of value. I guess she’s really motivated. My quick tips for her were just to write without correcting any mistakes. Write and put it all out there and then come back later to correct any mistakes and add more content.
She was worried about her side stories in the guide but I told her that’s what makes people connect with you, the side stories make it real.
So in LESS then a week she has a solid product of 40-pages and is ready to move forward!
So we have a domain name, web hosting, a product and now she’s ready to move to the next step!
All with ONLY reading the first part of SFB.
Week 3: The Website
What we decide to do is go with a font-end squeeze page, a simple page that asks for an email address and in return we give some quick value (bait), such as a video tip about couponing.
Once we have a person’s email address, we’ll immediately send them to a sales page that sells the product. While a majority of people will not purchase right away, that’s alright because we will have ready 20 valuable blog posts on the back end with lots of tips and strategies to gain a person’s trust and push them back to the sales page, in a subtle way of course, never directly pushing people.
** Similar to what I’m doing with these blog posts. It’s a strategy I want you to use for your business. These blog posts are easy to create, it can JUST be a video too, it doesn’t have to be elaborate guides like I often do. It’s about giving value first before asking for anything in return. Naturally people will want to know more from you and that’s where you get the sale.
Building the Squeeze Page/Sales Page
We decided to go with LeadPages to help build the sales page and squeeze pages quickly. I like these guys because it’s point and click, VERY easy to use. And it had to be easy to use because my mom has ZERO experience with building websites, let alone a sales page. These guys make it easy!
Below is a video where I show my mom how to use LeadPages.
(I show my mom how to create her sales page! It’s a long video but has a surprise ending so watch the whole thing!)
I like LeadPages because they make it dead easy to create a sales page or squeeze page in minutes. The other day I had to create a squeeze page and it literally took me 5-minutes to create.
We were originally going to go with ThemeForest and just use a template but we had trouble finding a template we liked plus it would take a bunch of work to modify.
And we don’t need a shopping cart because we’re going with Clickbank. They handle the entire transaction including fraud protection, product delivery and basic customer support, it’s awesome!
As for the membership back-end we going with a Wordpress Membership script.
While a PDF document might be good to have, I think a membership area similar to SFB’s membership area is good because it’s easy to add dynamic content to such as video and update content easily. Not to mention there are no restrictions with viewing content like you get with PDF protection software.
That’s where she’s at for the moment!
I’ll update with another post when we have a little more to show you guys.
The SAME setup (squeeze page + sales page) can be done with other products such as software, physical products or even services. It’s ALL about capturing leads and bringing people back to your website over and over again until that TRUST is built and they become a customer. I’ll share more in the coming days.
How is your progress going? Do you have a niche idea decided? Do you have website and have you decided on a shopping cart or something else?
Let me know below or post in the Support Forums.

Awesome information Aspkin! However the leadpages is a monthly payment you have to pay for. Is that correct?
Yep, that’s correct. It’s I believe $37/mo.
HOWEVER, you can pay for one month, use the service and export your sales pages and squeeze pages you create to your own server and cancel.
They charge monthly because they host your content as well utilize analytics and other cool things to make it worth the monthly fee but you can export the raw HTML to your website.
I like it personally to create sales and squeeze pages quickly. And high quality pages too.
This video had me cracking up! But you were right this lead page is very self explanatory and easy to use. When I got the time to sit down and work on it, I got stuff done very fast. I just have a couple things I want to to look at later on when you have the time. Good Job Donny!
